HOWDY.

SEASON 5 IS PROGRESSING SWIMMINGLY.

Hey there everybody, Benson “Nutty” Newton here with another hot recap to go over the last few days. Sorry I haven’t written one in a while, I’ve been busy with… other stuff. Without further ado, let’s get into the news.

REVERB RINGS

IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS. IDOLS.

Since my last Recap which ended on Day 5 of the Season, we’ve gotten a much better picture of how the waves of Reverb washing all around Blaseball Stadiums are effecting your favorite players and teams.

hardcore shuffling

By far the most common Reverb effect we’ve seen over the last several days is forcing team’s batting lineup and pitching order to be shuffled. This has happened to the following teams:

  • Hawaii Fridays
    • Day 5
      • 2 Batters & Pitchers Changed Positions
      • Batting Lineup Shuffled
    • Day 30
      • Batting Lineup Shuffled (Again)
  • San Francisco Lovers
    • Day 8
      • Batting Lineup Shuffled
  • Seattle Garages
    • Day 21
      • Battling Lineup Shuffled
  • New York Millennials
    • Day 27
      • Batting Lineup Shuffled
  • Chicago Firefighters
    • Day 30
      • Batting Lineup Shuffled
      • Pitching Order Changed
  • Philly Pies
    • Day 44
      • Pitching Order Changed
  • Houston Spies
    • Day 44
      • Pitching Order Changed

As you can see, while this has been largely a minimal effect, largely changing the possibilities of Grand Slams and Series Sweeps.

However, the major change that Reverb may cause… well…

don mitchel is now reverberating wildly

On Day 46, during a casual loss to the Underdog Hawaii Fridays, San Fransisco Lover’s Hitter Don Mitchel was struck with dangerous levels of Reverberations, causing him to now be permanently Reverberating.

It seems that Don will be Reverberating infinitely, lest somebody is able to heal him of this affliction. As long as it’s the case, it seems like Don will be able to occasional Reverberate right back to the plate after his first at-bat. Fascinating!

MISFORTUNE STRIKES.

PEANUT ALLERGIES AND INCINERATION. oH MY.

As is often the case, a new Recap has unfortunately brought a new set of unfortunate happenings to report upon. However, for such a long stretch of Days involved in this edition, two is a remarkably low amount!

peanut allergy.

On Day 37, Washer Narajas of the Yellowstone Magic swallowed a stray Peanut and unfortunately had an allergic reaction. This reaction halved all of their star rankings turning them into a shell (badoom psh) of their former self. How a bat and a hat caught inside of a geyser that once was an all star Blaseball Hitter swallowed a peanut, much less had a negative reaction to it, is beyond my own understanding. Perhaps the Commissioner knows.

in memoriam: Richardson Turquoise

On Day 40, a rogue umpire incinerated Yellowstone Magic Hitter Richardson Turquoise. Coming just Days after the allergic reaction of Washer Narajas, this was a great hit to the team’s performance and morale alike. A beloved cornerstone of the team, “Turq” will be missed and was replaced by the fresh-faced and eager Annie Roland.

LEAGUE STANDINGS

FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM: HOW IT’S LOOKING

Let’s take a look at the ILB’s different divisions and at the League as a whole!

lawful good

The Lawful Good division is currently being ruled over by the iron, yet soft, grip of the San Francisco Lovers. With an eight game lead, it will take a lot of work for even the next closest team, the Chicago Firefighters, to catch up with the division AND League leading team.

chaotic good

With just a single Game lead over the Hawaii Fridays, Season 4 Chaotic Good Champs, the New York Millennials, hold onto their division. With just an eight game gap between the 1st place and last place team inside of the division, this may be the most even and flat division around. We look forward to seeing how it shakes out over the rest of the season.

lawful evil

Currently, the Lawful Evil division is lead by the Baltimore Crabs, who are holding off the Season 4 ILB Champion Hades Tigers. The Tigers have ruled the most difficult division in the League for the last two Seasons, so it’s at least interesting to see some more competition, even if the Hades Tigers end up winning it again over the next 40+ games.

chaotic evil

After a slow start, Season 4’s Chaotic Evil division leader, the Breckenridge Jazz Hands, have taken a several game lead over the early Season division leader Canada Moist Talkers. The Division seems to be either the Moist Talkers or the Jazz Hands to take, with the Spies, Garages, and Dalé all solidly under .500.

league leader

Still in the lead of the whole League, though by a smaller margin than in the past, the San Francisco Lovers continue to decimate many opponents thanks to their strong stable of Hitters and best-in-League Pitcher rotation. However, they’ve lost much of the huge lead over other teams they had towards the beginning of the Season, with the Baltimore Crabs now within three games of the Lovers. Who knows what will happen next!

TOP OF THE 🚽

New for Season 5, I’m keeping a careful eye on the bottom of the League. It’s been pretty easy this time around, with the Unlimited Tacos continually on the bottom of the League by a huge margin. We hope that the Tacos continue to be successful in their mission to be the first to Party Time!

THAT’S ALL FOLKS.

THAT’S THE END OF THE RECAP. THAT’S IT.

the commissioner is doing a great job.
